Kustomer Bags $60M in Funding Following Spin-Out From Meta

Kustomer has secured $60 million in a recent funding round. The financing was co-led by Battery and Redpoint, both of which were previous investors and saw participation from Boldstart. This funding marks a significant milestone for Kustomer as it separates itself from its parent company Meta.

“We believe AI combined with contextual data from our customer service platform can automate many customer experiences and help agents perform better. Our continued priority will be to improve our data platform, AI offerings, and agent tools in parallel,” said Brad Birnbaum, CEO of Kustomer.

Having secured the new funding, Kustomer aims to bolster its team and concentrate on integrating cutting-edge AI technology with its existing customer data platform. This integration will enable the company to deliver faster and more accurate automated support while helping agents work more efficiently in an ever-changing AI landscape.

“Kustomer continues to push the envelope and redefine what it means to deliver a modern customer service experience. As Kustomer enters the next phase of their journey as a standalone company, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have another opportunity to partner with such a talented team that is passionate about creating products that help companies deliver great value to their customers,” said Alex Bard, Managing Director at Redpoint Ventures.

In February 2022, Meta successfully completed its acquisition of Kustomer, which made it part of the Meta Business Messaging Group, with a shared vision of revolutionizing communication between individuals and businesses through modern messaging channels. During its time under Meta's ownership, Kustomer achieved significant progress in various areas of its operations. This included expanding its international services, enhancing its capabilities in artificial intelligence, and strengthening its integration with Meta's popular communication channels like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger.
