Salesforce and Workday Introduce AI Employee Service Agent

Salesforce and Workday have announced a new AI-driven employee service agent, a tool that will automate tasks, provide personalized support, and deliver insights to enhance employee efficiency.

The partnership combines Salesforce’s Agentforce Platform and Einstein AI with Workday’s platform and AI capabilities. This integration creates AI agents that enhance employee service by leveraging Salesforce CRM and Workday’s financial and HR data. Employees will benefit from natural language interactions, streamlining tasks like onboarding, benefit changes, and career development.

“The AI opportunity for every company lies in augmenting their employees and delivering incredible customer experiences. That’s why we’re so excited about our new Agentforce platform which enables humans and AI to drive customer success together, and this new partnership with Workday, to jointly build an employee service agent. Together we’ll help businesses create amazing experiences powered by generative and autonomous AI, so every employee can get answers, learn new skills, solve problems, and take action quickly and efficiently,” said Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO, Salesforce.

This integration, enabled by the Salesforce Zero Copy Partner Network, ensures that customers can access and manage their data across both platforms without duplication or the need for custom integrations.

Enhanced Slack integration

Workday will also enhance its integration with Slack, offering an upgraded conversational interface for managing Workday financial and HR information directly within Slack. This move will allow users to interact with their records, including tasks, payroll, job requisitions, and employee details, in a more intuitive manner.

Advantages for employees

The new AI employee service agent will provide instant support through natural language interactions across Salesforce, Slack, and Workday, greatly benefiting employees. It will streamline onboarding by efficiently managing paperwork, resource allocation, and training, while also facilitating self-service HR by enabling employees to access information about PTO, benefits, and policies, and perform transactions such as updating healthcare plans autonomously.

Additionally, it will support ongoing development by offering personalized learning paths tailored to employees' roles, skills, and career interests as tracked in Workday.

Benefits for employers

For organizations, integrating HR, financial, and operational data into advanced AI models will significantly boost workforce capability. This integration enables precise workforce planning by aligning skill forecasts from Workday with demand data from Salesforce and ensures continuous financial planning through dynamic forecasting and scenario modeling based on unified data.

Moreover, it will enhance sales enablement by analyzing past activities to provide targeted coaching recommendations, thereby helping sales teams navigate deals more effectively.

“Employees, customers, and financials are the three most fundamental elements of any business. By integrating our platforms, datasets, and powerful AI capabilities, Salesforce and Workday are empowering our customers to deliver unmatched AI-powered employee experiences that ultimately lead to happier customers and drive unprecedented business value,” said Carl Eschenbach, Chief Executive Officer, Workday.
