At its latest, Let's Grow! 2024 Walmart Marketplace Seller Summit, Walmart unveiled expanded product categories, improved multichannel delivery options, and new tools aimed to streamline the selling process in several countries. Walmart Marketplace, one of the fastest-growing eCommerce platforms, continues to invest in innovative solutions to help sellers expand while also offering customers a variety of products they want and need.
“Sellers are looking for a smart path for growth. We’re bringing all the pieces together to be much more than a marketplace and investing in new ways for sellers to serve customers as we grow together,” said Manish Joneja, Senior Vice president, Walmart Marketplace and Walmart Fulfillment Services.
Omnichannel excellence
Walmart Marketplace's mix of digital and physical channels provides an unsurpassed omnichannel experience. Walmart's marketplace approach enhances convenience and reach by combining a large customer base, widespread physical presence, and seamless online-offline interaction.
Walmart launched Walmart LocalFinds, a new program that connects online and offline purchasing by allowing customers to pick up or receive deliveries directly from sellers' local locations. This new product, which will be available this fall, connects buyers with local businesses using Walmart's last-mile delivery network.
Fulfillment solutions
Walmart is leveraging its strong supply chain and technology to speed up fulfillment for merchants while offering some of the industry's most affordable prices. Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) provides new options for sellers to quickly deliver products between markets while also leveraging Walmart's network to handle eCommerce orders.
Multichannel logistics: The new Multichannel Solutions program enables vendors to use WFS to fulfill orders from any eCommerce site while using Walmart's supply chain. This service, which launches on September 10, offers plain, unbranded packaging, speedy shipping, and return management.
Cross Border Fulfillment: WFS's new Cross Border Import service will carry full-container-load cargoes directly from Asian ports to WFS facilities in the United States.
Preparations for the holiday season
Walmart is introducing a number of new tools to assist vendors in maximizing their profitability over the holiday season. With the Marketplace reaching its highest-ever sales days during last year's Holiday season, Walmart is launching a series of updates and solutions influenced by seller feedback.
They are improving its Marketplace with a redesigned Global Seller Center and a new app to make onboarding easier for sellers in the United States, Mexico, Chile, and Canada. The app includes expanded cross-listing possibilities and free translations for conference attendees. Moreover, the new Deals Dashboard makes it easier to participate in Walmart's deal events by giving sellers more data and insights to help them optimize their offers and maximize sales potential.
