Salesforce is set to acquire Spiff, an incentive compensation management (ICM) software provider, that blends an easy-to-use low-code user interface, the comfort of a spreadsheet, and a robust processing engine. This combination is designed to streamline commission automation on a large scale.
“CROs and financial leaders know the importance of compensation in driving rep behavior. The challenge these leaders face is in how to align these compensation plans to desired outcomes – all while navigating data across siloed-point solutions. Spiff connects what sellers want – transparent compensation – with what sales leaders want – compensation planning built into CRM that aligns behaviors to strategic outcomes,” says Ketan Karkhanis, EVP & GM, Sales Cloud.
Once the acquisition is finalized, the Spiff team will become an integral part of Sales Cloud, collaborating to enrich Salesforce's Sales Performance Management solutions. This integration aims to provide customers with a reliable platform that enhances visibility, supercharges selling efforts, and unlocks growth opportunities.
This move is expected to assist Chief Revenue Officers (CROs) in efficiently managing intricate incentive compensation plans, fostering seamless collaboration with financial and sales operations teams, and gaining insights into the key factors propelling revenue performance for driving top-line growth.
“I’m excited about the future of Spiff and about what this means for the world of SPM and ICM in general. We have always taken pride in Spiff’s pace of innovation and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make an even deeper impact on the space as part of the Salesforce ecosystem,” says Jeron Paul, CEO of Spiff.
Spiff is already available on the Salesforce AppExchange and has established a longstanding partnership with Salesforce, with over 70% of Spiff's customers utilizing Sales Cloud as their CRM. Additionally, being part of the Salesforce Ventures portfolio, Spiff has been deeply integrated into the Salesforce ecosystem.
Salesforce anticipates the completion of the acquisition in the first quarter of its fiscal year 2025, pending customary closing conditions.
Elsewhere, Salesforce has recently collaborated with companies such as ADP and AWS, to forge new paths in AI and GenAI transformations.
