Accenture and Google Cloud to Establish Generative AI Center of Excellence

Accenture and Google Cloud have joined forces to help businesses leverage generative AI for enhanced operational efficiency, the creation of new business avenues, and the development of distinctive customer experiences. They will establish a global Generative AI Center of Excellence (CoE), serving as a hub for industry expertise, technical know-how, and product resources. This partnership will enable businesses to effectively build and expand applications using Google Cloud's generative AI portfolio, ultimately expediting the time it takes to realize value.

The CoE will have an important role in helping enterprises identify the most suitable large language model for their specific business goals, including Google's cutting-edge model, Gemini.

"As a catalyst for business reinvention, generative AI will transform how people work and access information. Organizations want to move from experimentation with generative AI to scaled implementations faster. Accenture's deep expertise in managing and scaling large language models tailored for business needs, paired with tools like Accenture's model switchboard, can help accelerate adoption. Our latest joint investment with Google Cloud can help clients drive quicker business results, as well as long-term value from their generative AI applications," said Karthik Narain, group chief executive–Technology at Accenture.

This partnership aims to accelerate the development of advanced prompt engineering strategies, encompassing AI model optimization, fine-tuning, and foundation model customization. Clients will benefit from unique resources, including access to Accenture's AI Navigator platform, industry-specific datasets, and support for Google Cloud's Model Garden collection.

Extending to various tools

The CoE's offerings extend to a diverse array of tools, featuring Gemini and over 130 large language models (LLMs) through Model Garden on Vertex AI. Vertex AI provides a comprehensive suite of AI and machine learning (ML) development tools, facilitating swift adoption and deployment of generative AI capabilities. Enterprises can leverage APIs, MLOps tools, and seamless integrations with BigQuery, streamlining the training, testing, and tuning of models on a unified platform.

"Accenture is a leader in providing AI services that help enterprises successfully implement generative AI and accelerate business transformation. Through our joint center of excellence, enterprises across industries have access to leading technical experts and engineers that can address their most complex business challenges and quickly begin creating value from Google Cloud's advanced generative AI technology," said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud.

Expediting the deployment of gen AI

In addition to model-centric services, the CoE introduces rapid prototyping services on Google Cloud, designed to expedite the development and deployment of generative AI applications. These services aim to spark new business capabilities across diverse industries, incorporating use cases that apply generative AI to improve enterprise search, enhance customer contact center experiences, automate unstructured document management and summarization, and more.

Clients will also have access to Google Cloud's specialized infrastructure, including Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), and the Google AI Hypercomputer. These resources are tailored for the rapid training, tuning, and serving of AI models.

The CoE doesn't just provide technological solutions; it draws from Accenture's extensive experience, encompassing over 300 scaled generative AI projects, AI solutions, and a substantial portfolio of 1,450+ AI patents and patent-pending applications.

Furthermore, Accenture is set to enhance its internal technological capabilities by extending access to Duet AI for Developers. This move will empower thousands of its software engineers, enabling both novice and seasoned developers to benefit from sequential and context-sensitive coding suggestions.
