Content collaboration and governance provider Egnyte has announced the general availability of Egnyte Copilot, an AI-driven assistant designed to enhance enterprise content collaboration. Egnyte Copilot allows customers to engage in AI-powered interactions with their private data securely, offering a straightforward tool that ensures both internal and external data security.

Egnyte Copilot facilitates content management by providing insights, document summaries, new content creation, and multimedia transcriptions, all within Egnyte's comprehensive content governance framework. Users can set up specific file groupings as “Knowledge Bases” for targeted AI responses and configure each base with domain-specific prompt libraries to guide the AI’s output.
This release provides new and existing customers on eligible plans with several powerful features:
- Knowledge Bases: Execute AI queries across vast collections of files. Users can create bases focused on specific projects, file types, or knowledge domains.
- Image File Support: Extract and detail specific information within image files.
- Audio and Video File Support: Summarize audio and video content, generate transcripts, and highlight key insights.
- Custom Prompts: Tailor Egnyte Copilot’s responses with context-specific instructions.
Egnyte Copilot integrates seamlessly with Egnyte’s web, mobile, tablet, and desktop applications, making it easy for users to incorporate into their workflows.
These updates reflect Egnyte’s ongoing strategy to integrate technological solutions into a cohesive and secure content platform, addressing the specific needs of various business disciplines and industries. Additionally, Egnyte has announced new integrations with Microsoft 365, enabling customers to share AI-generated document labels with Microsoft security applications and run AI queries on Egnyte-stored data through Microsoft Teams using Microsoft’s Copilot application.
