UserTesting Launches Friction Detection Along with Other Updates

UserTesting has announced Friction Detection along with new updates that include machine learning advancements. These updates enable businesses to gain a deeper understanding of their customers in a shorter time, giving them the necessary context to identify and address user needs. The updates make it easier for companies to identify customer behavior when using their products and share insights across their organization. Additionally, the company has unveiled an integration with Microsoft Teams to streamline sharing of video feedback.

"Businesses, as well as their customers, are significantly impacted by the rapidly-changing macro environment. It is critical for companies to understand and stay ahead of changing consumer sentiment to be successful. At UserTesting, we are committed to providing companies with rich and actionable experience insights, quickly. Companies that can adapt to meet their customers' needs tend to succeed, and we continuously enhance our platform to ensure that our customers remain competitive in their markets," said Michelle Engle, Chief Product Officer, UserTesting.

Friction detection

The new machine learning feature visually detects moments of friction when users experience difficulty interacting with digital products, including apps, prototypes, and websites. These friction behaviors can include excessive clicking or scrolling.

Businesses are now able to combine behavioral data with video feedback to gain more insights and drive outcomes. This feature is especially useful for product and design teams because it enables them to optimize user flows before investing in costly development resources. UserTesting's friction detection feature is comprehensive and can be used for live sites and prototypes. In addition, it saves time and provides context for understanding user needs more quickly while also reducing the risk of launching poor user experiences and the need for rework.

Integration with Microsoft Teams

UserTesting has integrated its platform with Microsoft Teams, enabling organizations to easily share human insights with colleagues without leaving the UserTesting platform. This integration allows more people across an organization to view user experiences and hear their thoughts in real-time.

Users can share videos and related content with colleagues, even if they don't have a UserTesting subscription, saving time and allowing for more informed decision-making based on the insights gathered from UserTesting. The integration provides more value from a UserTesting subscription, as even non-subscribers can benefit from the feature.

Additional advancements

With the aim of helping companies make better business decisions with the power of experience insights, UserTesting has also introduced expanded capabilities for its Invite Network, allowing teams to access more audiences while maintaining privacy. This feature saves time by streamlining the analysis of feedback from contributors outside the UserTesting Contributor Network.

In addition, UserTesting has improved its transcriptions by adding Spanish-language transcripts for unmoderated tests, along with existing languages of English, German, and French.

Furthermore, the company is improving the product experience for its customers by offering an integrated login experience that will allow them to access the UserTesting, UserZoom, and EnjoyHQ platforms seamlessly. This step towards a unified, end-to-end solution will allow customers to move between each solution easily and take advantage of all the benefits they offer.

Speaking of other platforms, UserTesting and UserZoom have announced a merger, with the aim of creating a comprehensive solution for experience research under the UserTesting name.
