Oracle has recently announced new updates to its Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite aimed at enhancing healthcare organizations' operations, improving employee experiences, and elevating patient care. These updates span Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing (SCM), Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM), and Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), providing tools to streamline processes, boost productivity, reduce costs, support employee development, and improve patient services.
"Healthcare organizations are under pressure to deliver a consistently high standard of care while controlling costs and addressing employee needs. The latest additions to Oracle Cloud SCM, Oracle Cloud HCM, and Oracle Cloud ERP will help our customers build more efficient and resilient supply chain processes, enhance the employee experience, improve planning, and better support frontline workers so they can focus on what matters most – delivering high-quality care to their patients," said Steve Miranda, Executive Vice President, Applications Development, Oracle.
Last year, Oracle introduced a generative AI offering - Oracle Clinical Digital Assistant - designed specifically for healthcare institutions.
Boosting procurement efficiency
Key enhancements include the introduction of Oracle Healthcare Marketplace within Oracle Fusion Cloud Procurement. This new feature offers a business-to-consumer (B2C) shopping experience, improving procurement efficiency by maximizing on-contract spending through comprehensive access to Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and various negotiated contracts, streamlining sourcing and contracting processes, and boosting savings by optimizing contract-based purchasing.
These offerings also enhance product data accuracy by automatically updating and cleaning product catalog data, which helps reduce time, resources, and expenses associated with non-catalog purchases due to data errors.
In addition, they improve the procurement experience by offering an extensive third-party medical, surgical, and device product catalog, allowing for easier discovery, sourcing, and pricing of items not listed in an organization's standard item master or contract portfolio.
Supporting healthcare workers
Oracle Cloud HCM is rolling out new features designed to enhance support for healthcare workers. These enhancements include Oracle Recruiting and Oracle Recruiting Booster, which streamline and improve the recruitment process. Additionally, Oracle Touchpoints and Oracle Celebrate aim to reduce employee turnover by promoting meaningful interactions and enabling peer recognition among staff.
Further supporting workforce development, Oracle Grow and Oracle Talent Management leverage AI to tailor staff training and development based on the specific needs of patient care. These tools also ensure that healthcare employees maintain up-to-date certifications and licenses, aligning their skills with ongoing industry requirements. Moreover, Oracle Workforce Scheduling optimizes staff deployment by creating flexible schedules that match individual accreditations and availability.
On the financial and operational planning front, Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), a component of Oracle Cloud ERP, enhances forecasting accuracy with predictive planning and advanced prediction capabilities. These features assist healthcare organizations in better managing patient volumes, revenue, and expenditures.
These comprehensive tools collectively aim to bolster healthcare organizations' operational efficiency and financial health.
