SAP has taken a significant step towards delivering relevant, reliable, and responsible Business AI through investing in three prominent generative AI startups: Aleph Alpha GmbH, Anthropic, and Cohere. By doing so, SAP is furthering its commitment to an open ecosystem approach to AI, integrating cutting-edge technology across its portfolio.
These investments add to a series of AI partnerships and enterprise use cases announced earlier in the year while also complementing a recent commitment of over $1 billion to invest in AI-powered enterprise technology startups announced by Sapphire Ventures.
"We are at a watershed moment, with generative AI poised to fundamentally change how businesses run. SAP is committed to creating an enterprise AI ecosystem for the future that complements our world-class business applications suite and helps our customers unlock their full potential," said Sebastian Steinhaeuser, Chief Strategy Officer, SAP SE.
To strengthen its AI strategy, SAP is making direct investments and increasing research and development efforts to explore additional AI use cases. The company has established partnerships with industry leaders like Microsoft, Google Cloud, and IBM to further AI innovation.
The SAP Business AI portfolio is already embedded into the SAP product portfolio and is being used by over 26,000 customers of cloud solutions, covering various scenarios and partner solutions. What makes it relevant is that it is available from the start and integrated into critical business processes. Moreover, SAP ensures a responsible delivery of AI by prioritizing security, privacy, compliance, and ethics.
SAP has previously announced a collaboration with Microsoft to incorporate generative AI capabilities to help companies solve recruiting, onboarding, and training challenges.
