Kaleyra Adds WhatsApp to its US Offering

Omnichannel business communications platform Kaleyra has added WhatsApp Business Platform to its omnichannel offering in the United States. Being a solution provider for the WhatsApp Business Platform since 2019, Kaylera has successfully implemented the platform across sectors like fintech and retail in India and Europe.

In addition to operating in more than 190 countries, Kaleyra will now enable US-based businesses to connect with customers on WhatsApp, the communication app with over 2 billion monthly active users and 70 million of them coming from the United States.

"We are excited to launch the WhatsApp Business Platform in the US via our proprietary omnichannel platform. WhatsApp is a critical communication channel for businesses of all sizes, and our platform makes it easy for them to connect with their customers on WhatsApp and deliver a personalized and engaging experience," said Mauro Carobene, Chief Business Officer of Kaleyra.

Companies can easily integrate WhatsApp via Kaleyra with their existing systems, such as Salesforce, Zoho, and Shopify. The integration promises customized templates for conversational messaging, workflow optimization, WhatsApp automation, and increased conversations through interactive CTAs and rich media.

Only three months after launching Kaleyra Video in the US, Kaleyra is showing significant growth in the region. The company currently offers SMS, MMS, RCS, and push notifications to its US customers, and it is now introducing more products that have been successful in the EMEA and APAC regions. With the inclusion of the WhatsApp Business Platform in its omnichannel product lineup, Kaleyra provides US enterprise brands with an extra means to connect with customers through personalized communications.

According to a number of sources, Tata Communications will acquire Kaleyra in an-all cash transaction of around $100 million to enable global enterprises to offer personalized experiences to their customers. A.S. Lakshminarayanan, MD and CEO of Tata Communications, said in the announcement:

"We are excited about Kaleyra's remarkable talent and their demonstrated capabilities in next-gen technologies. With this acquisition, we will further build intelligent, intuitive and innovative multi-channel communication solutions to unlock new growth opportunities for our customers."
